Four of the six founders of Center for Change, Inc. have been close friends and professional colleagues and have been in an active practice together for more than seven years, giving Center for Change a solid and stable foundation of lengthy working relationships.
Alice Covey, RD
Alice majored in dietetics at Montana State University and graduated with a B.S. in 2003. She then did her dietetic internship through the Utah State University Extension program, finishing in March of 2005. She interned at Center for Change for three weeks and knew immediately that Center for Change was the place she wanted to work. Alice's interests, since she began studying nutrition, have always been focused on well-being, education, and counseling. She is also a yoga teacher and is always looking for connections between nutrition, yoga, and body image.
Amy Harman, MFTI
Amy received her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Utah State University in 2005. As part of the degree requirements, she completed practicums at the Utah State University Family Life Center and at Weber Human Services treating individuals, couples, and families. She worked at Weber Human Services from 2004-2006 where she provided intensive outpatient and in-home therapy to adolescents and their families who were court-ordered for substance abuse treatment. She is experienced in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, oppositional defiant disorder, substance abuse issues, and chronic mental illness. Her focus is on helping the individual make progress in treatment by incorporating the family system. Amy joined the Center’s staff in 2006 and provides inpatient treatment to women struggling against eating disorders through individual, group, marital, and family therapy.
Andrew L. Ellsworth, RN

Andrew received his Degree in Nursing from Weber State University in 1993. He worked for Intermountain Health Care Hospice and VistaCare Hospice as RN Case Manager for many years, providing palliative care for those with a terminal illness. He received Intermountain Health Care’s Patient Care Award for Home Care Services in 1996, and continues to provide a wide range of nursing care from medical surgical to mental health for a variety of adult and adolescent illnesses and disorders. Andrew has been with the Center since its inception in 1996. As the Nursing & Health Services Director he supervises the Nursing and UM departments and provides ongoing instruction and training for all the staff involved in direct care. (He also manages Utilization Review activities, functioning as the liaison between clients and contracted managed care organizations. This substantiates the clinical onset and progress made while at CFC, helping individuals/families obtain reimbursement from other sources than their own financial resources.) Becky Mann, RN
Becky graduated with her nursing degree in 2003 and has worked at Timpanogos Hospital in ER, MedSurge and Women’s Services. Becky works full-time at the Center for Change and continues to work on-call at Timpanogos Hospital. For the past 6 years Becky has been a popular speaker, working with the Center’s Speaker’s Bureau to speak at many educational events in schools, colleges, and church and community groups. Becky was a patient at Center for Change in 1998 and continues to provide hope and healing for others struggling with this disorder. In her free time, Becky enjoys music, snowboarding, and loves to be outdoors finding new things to enjoy.
Dave Carter
Dave has been teaching the last three years at Pleasant Grove High School, in the Alpine School District. He teaches a variety of classes which include; Business management, Business Communications, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Computer Technology, and Desktop Publishing. Dave earned two BS degrees from Utah Valley State College. His first degree was in Business Management and the second was in Business Marketing education. Dave is currently working on a Masters Degree in educational Leadership at Brigham Young University. Outside of teaching Dave also works as a Loan Officer at First Colony Mortgage.
David K. Anderson, MD, FACEP Corporate Vice President - Medical Administrator - Physician

Dr. Anderson is the Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Services at Center For Change. Dr. Anderson received his Medical Doctor degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in May 1986. He completed his internship and residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington D.C.; Denver General at the University of Colorado, Saint Anthony, Saint Joseph and Affiliated Hospital Emergency in Denver. He was affiliated for years with the Utah Valley Emergency Physicians, S.C., as an emergency staff physician at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. As of January 1, 2005, Dr. Anderson is an emergency staff Physician at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem, Utah. Dr. Anderson was affiliated with PEP, S.C., Emergency Medicine Staff Physician at St. Mary’s Milwaukee Emergency Department in Milwaukee, St. Mary’s Ozaukee Emergency Department in Port Washington, TheCommunity Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in Menomonee Falls and St. Joseph’s Emergency Department in West Bend, WI. He served as the Medical Director of the emergency department at Community Memorial Hospital Menomonee Falls, WI. Dr. Anderson is Certified as an instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Provider of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Provider of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Instructor for Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS). He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Elayne McArthur
Education Coordinator
Elayne has eight years of teaching and leadership experience. She was a Social Studies Teacher in Alpine School District’s Alternative Education Program, Summit High School. She was a member of Summit High School’s Professional Development Team for three years. She served as Summit’s lead teacher in control of academic curricular alignment, collaboration with Summit and mainstream schools, and maintaining relationships with the community. She was also in charge of tracking and maintaining student records. Elayne represents Cascade Mountain High School in weekly treatment team meetings and serves as a member of Center For Change’s PIC Committee. Elayne currently teaches Social Studies, serves as Education Coordinator, and is the Registrar of CMHS. She is the mother of three beautiful children.
Espra L. Andrus, LCSW Therapist

Ms. Andrus received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas in December 1989. She began her career practicing individual and family therapy at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls, Montana, with those impacted by traumatic injuries. She has been in Utah since 1992 working with adolescents, adults, and their families, and focusing on issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma recovery. She has worked extensively with trauma, from debriefing immediately following a traumatic event to providing therapy to assist clients in coping with the residual and longer-standing aspects of trauma aftermath. She provides individual, group, and family therapy.
Farah Shirazi, RN

Farah graduated with her nursing degree in 1995 and worked at UVRMC on the oncology floor and at Charter Canyon hospital in the children’s unit. Farah has been at the Center since 1996 and has played an important role since she joined the staff. As the Employee Health Nurse, she maintains employee health files, takes care of recording and importing data, and handles the infection prevention for Center for Change.
Greg Ellis, MD
Psychiatrist

Dr. Ellis is the Director of Psychiatry at Center For Change. Dr. Ellis was born in California, schooled in Utah, and attended the University of Utah. He paused early in his university studies to spend two years in Japan learning the language and cultural aspects of the country. He resumed University of Utah studies, and following graduation, entered medical school at that same site. In both undergraduate and medical school he participated in leadership positions such as class president, Senate representative, etc. Dr. Ellis completed residency in psychiatry at the University of Utah.
Since January of 1992 Dr. Ellis has continued a solo private practice, serving older children, young adults, and adults. His inpatient hospital practice continued at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute where a faculty position has been maintained since January 1992. During the past three years he has provided consultation and treatment intervention at Center for Change. He continues to participate in a variety of educational opportunities in the community including, but not limited to: Regular instructor at the Crisis Intervention Team Academy for the Salt Lake City Police Department; educator-at-large specializing in attention deficit disorder hyperactivity in children and adults; treatment of refractory, depressive, and anxiety disorders; and stabilization and treatment of bipolar and other psychotic disorders.
Dr. Ellis currently serves as volunteer faculty for the University of Utah Psychiatry Residency Program, and continues to work on site at the University of Utah's Neuropsychiatric Institute based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Outside of work he is actively involved with his family of five children and their leisure interests in various sporting activities, a variety of outdoor activities including, but not limited to, hiking, skiing, water skiing, camping, and mountain biking.
H. Mac Granley, PhD Psychologist - Research Specialist

Dr. Granley received his PhD. Degree in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University in 2001. He successfully completed a full-time APA accredited internship at the Washington State University Counseling Center. Dr. Granley completed his post-doctoral residency specializing in treating eating disorders at the Center For Change in 2002 and subsequently received his Psychologist licensure in 2002 in the state of Utah. Dr. Granley was formerly a part-time faculty member within the Department of Counseling Psychology at Brigham Young University where he was involved in a number of research projects. Dr. Granley is currently the Assistant Research Director at Center For Change where he is involved in a number of on-going research projects involving in-patients. Dr. Granley is also a published author in the field of eating disorders. Dr. Granley has been working at Center For Change since 2001.
Janna Bateman Dean, LCSW

Janna received her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2003. She completed internships at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI) and Wasatch Mental Health Adult Intensive Residential Treatment as part of her education requirements. Upon graduation, she worked at UNI as a therapist in the adolescent drug and alcohol intensive outpatient program and the children’s inpatient psychiatric unit. She has provided inpatient, residential, and intensive outpatient treatment for adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, and eating disorders. Janna joined the staff at Center for Change in August 2004.
Jeffrey W. Anderson
Chief Financial Officer - Computer Systems - Marketing Director - Vice President, Business Operations
Mr. Anderson is one of the co-founders and partners of Center For Change. Mr. Anderson received a degree in Hospitality Management. He has extensive experience in business management covering a wide range of industries from restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, and computers. His work with Novell/WordPerfect has given him the computer-based knowledge for the design, support, and maintenance of the many computer systems that are vital to the company’s operation.
Jen Adams, CSW
Therapist
Jen originally started her career with Center for Change as a Care Technician. For six years she worked with women battling eating disorders, on the inpatient unit at Center For Change, before receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work from California State University of Sacramento in 2004. During her graduate program she specialized in providing counseling to diverse populations, individuals and families infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, and youth and their families struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, trauma, and mental illness. Upon graduation, she worked as an outpatient therapist at a community mental health clinic in Sacramento, California, which serves children, adolescents, and their families. Jen returned to Center For Change in April 2005 as a therapist to provide individual, group, and family therapy.
Julie B. Clark, PhD
Clinical Director - Corporate Vice President - Psychologist

Dr. Clark is one of the co-founders of Center For Change. She received her PhD in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in August 1984. She received a Masters Degree in School Psychology in 1981 from Brigham Young University. Dr. Clark has specialized in women’s issues for 21 years in both outpatient and inpatient settings. These issues include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, abuse, dissociative disorders and self esteem difficulties. Dr. Clark has been Clinical Director at Center for Change since its inception in 1996. She has been involved in program development for children, adolescents and adults in various mental health settings. Dr. Clark is highly involved in all clinical aspects of the Center’s treatment programs. She also provides individual, group and family therapy, and teaches the 12-step program for inpatients and residents at the Center. Dr. Clark is very active in applying spiritual aspects of healing in treatment as appropriate.
Julie Bouche
Teacher
Julie Bouche currently works as the English teacher at Cascade Mountain High School after working five years in Alpine School District teaching at both Timpanogos and Pleasant Grove high schools. She got her teaching degree from BYU in English with minors in history teaching and Spanish. When not working at the Center, she spends most of her time playing with her two incredibly charming sons.
Kara L. Lowe, CTRS, TRS
Recreation Therapist
Mrs. Lowe received her degree in Recreation Therapy at Brigham Young University in 1999. She is a certified Emergency Medical Technician, River Guide, and Ropes Course Facilitator. Mrs. Lowe worked for several years at Provo Canyon School treating adolescents with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and substance abuse issues. Mrs. Lowe utilizes a variety of expressive arts and experiential interventions in group, family, and individual recreation therapy at Center For Change.
Kim Crossley, LCSW

Kim received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University in 2000. As part of the degree requirements, she completed internships at the Utah State Hospital Children’s Unit, Wasatch Mental Health Adult Services, and LDS Charities in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Upon graduation, she worked at Wasatch Mental Health Adolescent School-based Services and Adult Intensive Residential Treatment as well as LDS Family Services. Kim has provided inpatient, intensive residential, and outpatient treatment for children, adolescents, and adults struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and chronic mental illness, such as schizophrenia. A member of the National Association of Social Workers, Kim joined Center for Change in September 2004. She provides individual, group, marital, and family therapy.
Kimberly Passmore, RD
Clinical Nutrition Director
Kim majored in dietetics at Brigham Young University and graduated with a B.S. in 2002. Throughout her schooling, Kim worked at Center for Change as a care technician and as the diet technician and gained valuable insight in working with those who suffer from eating disorders. She completed her dietetic internship (at various locations including Primary Children’s Hospital, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, and Utah County WIC) in May of 2003 and continued to work at CFC doing both inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling. In October of 2005, Kim became the Clinical Nutrition Director and oversees the nutrition program at Center for Change. She loves being able to aid those in the recovery process and to help them heal their relationship with food.
Kipling Rasmussen, PhD, MFT
Marriage and Family Therapist - Out-patient Therapist
Dr. Rasmussen received a Masters Degree in Family Studies from Texas Tech University in 1991, and a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in 1994. He spent the first years of his career providing individual, group and family therapy to severely emotionally deprived adolescents in Rochester, Minnesota, where he also designed and implemented therapeutic milieu plans for the program. He later served as the division supervisor for a company providing foster care services for the State of Utah. Published in both professional journals and popular magazines, his work examines various aspects of family interaction. He is currently employed at Center for Change, where he provides individual, group, and family therapy to clients struggling with eating disorders. He has been at Center For Change since 2000.
LeAnne Tolley, RYT
Yoga Instructor
LeAnne has been associated with the fitness industry since 1983. She is a licensed aerobics instructor and has taught in all areas of fitness over the last 20 years. In 1993, she turned her focus to her love of Yoga and has since become a Nationally licensed and registered Yoga Teacher. LeAnne has worked with many of the premier yoga teachers throughout the country and is currently the only nationally registered yoga teacher in Utah County. As well as teaching yoga at the Center, LeAnne owns her own yoga studio and is a guest instructor and speaker for many studios in the state and an instructor for teacher training throughout the year.
LoRene T. Hernandez
Accounts Receivable - Billing
LoRene joined the staff at Center For Change in April 1999, and came to Center For Change with over 13 years of experience in the psychiatric industry. LoRene brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Center. She has worked in various roles as an assessment counselor, communication supervisor, office manager for several busy outpatient practices, and coordinating the medical needs of a 196 bed RTC. LoRene's forte is helping to assure that clients are able to access insurance reimbursement for treatment. Her previous experience includes developing a successful billing and collection system for several practices in the area.
Lynette L. Taylor, MT-BC
Music Therapist
Ms. Taylor received her Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from Utah State University in 1998. She completed her clinical internship in music therapy at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute, specializing in the treatment of adults, adolescents and children with varied mental illness. In January of 1999 she received her Board Certification in clinical music therapy from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (Accredited by the NCCA). Ms. Taylor has worked at the Center for Change since February, 1998, where she created and implemented the current music therapy program. With the assistance of her accomplishments in violin, guitar, piano, vocals, and her clinical experience, Ms. Taylor has developed music therapy interventions to enhance verbal and non-verbal expression of feelings, creativity, problem-solving skills, relaxation, anger management, social interaction, and introspection. Lynette has an interest in furthering her education in ethnic music and practices.
Maren Unrau
Teacher
Maren Unrau can make the rare claim that the continent, state, and city in which she was born all have elements named after them (Americum, Californium, and Berkelium) which works out well for a science teacher. And, yes, she actually likes the periodic table of the elements. She graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo with a Bachelors degree in Biology teaching and taught junior high school for eight years with the Alpine School District. Now, after taking a few years off to be home with her children, she has returned to teaching as the Physical and Biological Sciences teacher at the Center For Change. Maren’s endorsements include Biological, Integrated, and Physical Sciences. She also has a Masters degree in school counseling from the University of Phoenix. She enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her husband and five children.
Marty Erickson, PhD, LMFT Marriage and Family Therapist

Marty received his PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Iowa State University in 2004. Before coming to the Center for Change in 2006, Marty was a faculty member in the Couple and Family Therapy program at North Dakota State University. He has previously worked for the Anasazi Foundation (a wilderness treatment program for adolescents and their families), LDS Social Services in Chicago, a youth and family outpatient center in South Chicago, a residential treatment facility for adolescent girls in Indiana, and he has maintained a small private practice since 1997. Marty’s therapy is informed by Narrative Therapy ideas and practices, and the work of the Arbinger Institute. He is a published author in the field of MFT with publications on Narrative Therapy, religion & spirituality in MFT, social justice & feminist informed training of MFTs, and personal values & ethics of therapists. Marty is involved in research projects at Center for Change, and focuses on qualitative research. He has also presented at national and international conferences for therapists and counselors. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Utah.
Melissa H. Smith, PhD

Dr. Melissa H. Smith earned her PhD Degree from the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Program at Brigham Young University in 2006. As part of the doctoral training, she completed a full-time APA-accredited internship at The University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, where she provided clinical services at the University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, and participated in campus-wide education campaigns on eating disorders. Dr. Smith completed a dissertation entitled “Perceptions of parents, self, and God as predictive of symptom severity among women beginning inpatient treatment for eating disorders.” She is a published author in the field of eating disorders, and presently participates in research at the Center. Prior to earning her doctoral degree, Dr. Smith earned a master’s degree in counseling from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, where she specialized in eating concerns and developmental issues.
Melissa K. Taylor, LMFT Therapist

Melissa received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2000. During her graduate program she specialized in treating families who were experiencing sexual trauma, divorce, and marital problems. After graduating she worked as a therapist at a residential treatment program for adolescent girls. During her years of experience there she focused mainly on families who were experiencing issues with depression, divorce, marital problems, and adolescents who needed treatment with eating disorders, oppositional behavior problems, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, substance abuse, and other addictions. Her focus is on using the family system to help the individual make therapeutic strides as well as help the family deal with present stressors. Melissa joined the Center’s staff in 2004 because she knew that her past experiences with eating disorders and family trauma would match the Center’s focus of working on helping clients heal from similar issues. She is also currently the Family Week Director here at the Center in addition to the Outpatient Process Group Facilitator.
Meredith Schramm
Teacher
Meredith received her Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University in Exercise Science Physical Education/Public School Teaching and a minor in Coaching. Mrs. Schramm did her student teaching at American Fork Junior High, and is currently working at Cascade Mountain High School and Willow Creek School teaching physical education. Mrs. Schramm has coaching experience in Cross Country, Track, and Basketball; where her cross-country team took 2nd place at the Utah state meet in 2004. Mrs. Schramm also dances at the professional level, dancing the Native American Hoop dance. She performed in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and has toured Africa, Alaska and many other US states. Mrs. Schramm has been with the Provo School District for five years as a Native American Program Specialist, Title VII program. Mrs. Schramm currently resides in Provo with her husband.
Michael E. Berrett, PhD Chief Executive Officer - Corporate President - Executive Director - Psychologist

Dr. Berrett is President and CEO, Executive Director, and Co-Founder of Center For Change, which specializes in intensive psychiatric treatment programs for eating disorders. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). He is the co-author of several books including the soon-to-be published APA book "Spirituality and the Treatment of Eating Disorders", and "Spiritual Renewal: A Journey of Faith and Healing". He has also co-authored several professional journal articles on eating disorders and other topics. He has presented nationally at many conferences including NATSAP, IECA, and IAEDP. Prior to the opening of Center For Change intensive programs in 1994, Dr. Berrett worked in private practice as a psychologist, and at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in adult and adolescent psychiatry. While at UVRMC, he was the program coordinator for a specialty eating disorder program, and while there, he also served as Chief of Psychology. He has been the Clinical Director of Aspen Achievement Academy, a residential wilderness program for adolescents, and he has been adjunct faculty at Brigham Young University in graduate programs in educational and counseling psychology. He is a certified school psychologist and school counselor, working early in his career with adolescents in public education. Dr. Berrett received his PhD in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in 1986. He and his wife Karen are the parents of eight wonderful children. Dr. Berrett has dedicated his professional life to helping young people navigate with wisdom and peace, the journey of life.
Nicole Hawkins, PhD
Clinical Director - Psychologist

Dr. Hawkins received her PhD in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Utah State University in 1999. In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree, she completed a dissertation entitled "The Impact of the Ideal Thin Body Image on Women". She completed her internship at the Salt Lake Veteran Affairs Medical Center, where she provided inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults suffering from PTSD and depression. Dr. Hawkins has also worked at Logan Regional Hospital, USU Eating Disorder Clinic and Laboratory, USU Counseling Center, and Bear River Mental Health, and has focused on women's issues, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. Dr. Hawkins has provided clinical expertise at Center For Change since 1999 and is currently a clinical director overseeing all assessments and evaluations. She is a regular presenter on body image and the treatment of eating disorders. Dr. Hawkins developed a comprehensive body image program that focuses on the media, diet industry, plastic surgery, childhood issues, and learning to appreciate one's body, and she leads these groups for the inpatient and residential patients. She is also a member of the First Lady Huntsman's Power and You committee and is active in many eating disorder prevention projects. Dr. Hawkins has recently published several articles on the media and how this relates to eating disorders and presents nationally at conferences.
P. Scott Richards, PhD Psychologist - Research Director

P. Scott Richards, PhD is the Director of Research for the Center for Change. Dr. Richards is a licensed psychologist and an Full Professor of Educational Psychology at Brigham Young University where he is the Coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Richards received his PhD in Counseling Psychology in 1988 from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He has extensive research training and experience, is the author of numerous scholarly articles in professional journals, and has authored or co-authored several books through the American Psychological Association publications. Dr. Richards is a licensed psychologist and has maintained a small private psychotherapy practice at the Center for Change for nine years.
Pam Kidd
Admissions Coordinator
Pam has worked at the Center for Change since November of 1999. Pam has had 20 years of experience working in customer service prior to joining the Center for Change team, receiving awards for her excellent service. She began her employment at Center for Change in public relations and marketing and is currently working as our Admissions Coordinator. In her free time she enjoys boating, hiking, biking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Randy K. Hardman, PhD
Chief Operating Officer - Clinical Director - Education Director - Marketing Director - Psychologist - Vice President, Finance

Dr. Hardman is a co-founder and partner of Center for Change. He received his PhD in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in April 1984. He has been a private practitioner in Indiana, Colorado and Utah for over twenty years, providing psychotherapy for a wide range of disorders with individuals, couples and families. He has developed and facilitated intensive treatment programs in community, private and hospital settings including: the Human Development Institute in Aurora, Colorado, and the Depression Center at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. He is an adjunct faculty member in the Educational Psychology Department at Brigham Young University, teaching both Masters and Doctoral students in the Counseling Psychology programs. He oversees all outpatient clinical services at Center For Change.
Rita B. Woods
After Care Coordinator
Rita received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Family Sciences with an emphasis in counseling from Brigham Young University. Prior to joining Center for Change in 1998, she was employed with Alpine School District as a substitute teacher. She enjoys teaching and helping women learn skills that will enhance the quality of life as they learn to question old belief systems and discover renewed confidence and a healthy self-concept. Her experience with eating disorders has given her desire and passion to help individuals find balance and happiness in recovery. Rita coordinates after care programs at the Center.
Robert W. Clark
Human Resource Director
Mr. Clark has 17 years experience in general management and human resource management. He received his Masters Degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University and worked for 10 years in the international software industry. He was the director of regional operations for WordPerfect Corporation's European offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and subsequently managed Novell's international support operations in 12 countries around the globe. Mr. Clark has broad experience in cultural, legal, labor, fiscal, and human resource issues as well as strategic business planning and budgeting. He joined Center for Change in 1998.
Shelby Satterthwaite
Direct Care Manager
Originally from Washington, Shelby graduated from Western Washington University with a double-major in Psychology and Communication. She moved to Utah in 2001 and has also lived in the Caribbean where she worked as a Retail General Manager. Starting as a Care Technician at the Center for Change in 2004, Shelby is now the manager of the 50 plus direct care staff employees. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading and sports.
Stan Vermont Harward
Principal, Cascade Mountain High School, Accredited NAAS
Stan Vermont Harward has been involved in the field of education for over thirty years. He earned his doctorate from Brigham Young University in Reading. He also has a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an educational specialist degree in Leadership and Administration. He has been a classroom teacher, school principal, district administrator, district director of literacy K-12, and a college professor. Dr. Harward had written and published in national refereed journals and presented on educational issues at the local, state, and national levels. He is married and has five children. Currently, he is the grant research director for Project SEEL, a research project in early childhood literacy at Brigham Young University. He also serves as the principal for Cascade Mountain High School.
T.O. Paul Harper, PhD
Instructional Psychology - Therapist
Dr. Harper received his PhD Degree in Instructional Psychology with emphasis in Instructional Design, Evaluation, Assessment, and Research from Brigham Young University and Purdue University in August 1996. His Masters Degree is in Organizational Communication and Organizational Behavior. Dr. Harper has taught at Purdue University and the University of Houston and as an adjunct faculty member at Brigham Young University. He has also had an active career in business including ownership in a variety of service businesses including, T.O. Paul Harper & Associates, a consulting firm. He has done extensive research in human and educational motivation and goal achievement. He developed the "HARPER Associated Review of Related Efficacy Resources", a series of tests designed to examine the resources an individual uses to judge their ability to accomplish specified behavior. He has designed programs to evaluate and educate individuals on personal efficacy. He has been instrumental in the conception and development of the education programs at the Center for Change. He has recently completed a PhD in Counseling Psychology at Brigham Young University and is completing his post doctoral residency at Center For Change.
Wendy Jensen, LCSW
Therapist
Wendy received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University in April of 2000. As part of the degree requirements, she completed internships at the Utah State Hospital Adult Unit, Siera Counseling for Children, and LDS Charities in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Upon graduation, she worked at LDS Family Services, an outpatient mental health facility providing individual, marital, and family therapies. She also worked at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center providing crisis intervention to families of individual who suffered traumatic injuries. In her outpatient practice she specializes in women’s issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, adoptions, eating disorders and other chronic mental illnesses. A member of the National Association of Social Workers, Wendy joined Center for Change in June of 2005. She provides individual, group, marital, and family therapy.
Whitnee Hood, RN
Director of Medical Records - Nurse RN
Ms. Hood received her Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing from the University of Utah. She has serveral years of experience in mental health, having worked at Olympus View Hospital and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She served as a board member for the Foundation for Change and is currently in charge of inpatient medical records. She has been an inpatient unit nurse with Center For Change since 1997.
