Tawna Waters earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Expressive Art Therapy, from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2020. She has worked as a mental health therapist in various settings, including private practice, substance abuse rehabilitation, residential treatment for teens in foster care, and at Primary Children’s Hospital working with kids in the Oncology and Neurotrauma units.

Tawna is committed to working with those with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and Trauma. A registered Dance/Movement therapist and Yoga teacher, Tawna works from a somatic lens using mindfulness, grounding, and creative expression. When integrated into traditional talk-therapy approaches of person-centered, CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, these techniques allow clients to attend to breath, sensations, and movement, giving them space to re-inhabit their bodies and recover a sense of joy, vitality, and playfulness. She is dedicated to advocating for her patients, and believes treatment needs to be responsive to the uniqueness of each individual.
