Maran Smith LCMHC, ATR-P
Maran earned her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling : Transpersonal Art Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and received her BA in Communication with a minor in Painting at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. She specializes in working with teens and adults using intentional, creative and somatically rich modalities as conduits for deep work to help give feeling form. Maran favors a trauma-informed approach with neurodevelopmentally targeted interventions that encourage autonomy in the individual. She is passionate about following guidance from the natural world and wild psyche to access tools for expression, creativity, and exploration that rewire us into a rhythmic symbiosis within ourselves as extensions of our environments. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Maran is happiest when hiking on mountain trails with her rescue dog Waffle. She is a registered yoga teacher, mindfulness practitioner, self-taught cook and artist. She spends her free time traveling the world, exploring nature and enjoying a good spa day.
