Brelynn Downs LCSW
Brelynn Downs, LCSW, attended Utah Valley University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2013. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Utah in 2016. Brelynn has worked in various mental health setting including providing respite care for children adopted from foster care. She spent time working in a certified Clubhouse program in which people with mental illness are involved in running a program that meets their recreational, social, and vocational needs. She also worked as part of a team to develop and run weekly recreational activities for women at the local homeless shelter.
She started her Career at Center for Change in 2012; during her time at CFC she has fulfilled many roles from working as a care tech, completing her social work internship, and as a therapist. Brelynn has practiced in all levels of care as a therapist including inpatient acute psychiatric care, residential treatment, and outpatient individual and family therapy. She has focused her career on helping women navigate eating disorder recovery, poor relationships with food and themselves, depression, anxiety, and low self-worth. She feels passionate about the work that she is doing and utilizes DBT, CBT, and ACT to empower and support her clients. Brelynn has done intensive trainings in DBT and is certified in DBT-PE for the treatment of PTSD. In her free time Brelynn can be found reading, listening to way too many podcasts, rock-climbing or doing yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.
