Beverly Williams LCSW

Beverly earned her Master’s of Social Work degree at the University of Utah in 2014. During that time she did her practicum at Salt Lake Youth Services where she worked with clients ranging in age from nine to 18, with concerns related to substance abuse, family dynamic stressors, trauma, neglect, anxiety, depression, and poorly controlled anger. She found that one of the most important things her teen clients wanted was a safe place to be heard and to develop skills to gain control of their lives.  After developing some of these skills, many were able to make great strides in their healing process.

She also worked for four and a half years at LDS Hospital in their inpatient behavioral health unit. During that time, she had the privilege of working with adults who struggled with depression, anxiety, severe mental illness, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, OCD, personality disorders, failing support systems, drug addiction, and homelessness. Her time in the behavioral health unit enabled her to help patients who had severe mental health concerns to focus, organize their thoughts, and make small, obtainable goals. Many were able to return home with a new set of skills to manage their thoughts, emotions, and decisions in a more effective way. Beverly believes that her patients are the masters of their fate and have control over the progress that is made in therapy. She meets her patients where they are currently and starts from a place that makes sense to them.
