Presentation Description:

Webinar presentation to train clinicians who are working with patients who are dealing with trauma.  During the presentation we will discuss the adaptive purpose of anxiety, understanding the fight/flight/ freeze/collapse response, and ways to approach and treat these patients.  We will also discuss specific interventions clinicians can use in the moment to help their patients cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Acute Stress symptoms.

Training For:

Staff of Hospitals, Medical Centers, Mental Health Clinics: General Medicine Physicians, Psychiatrists, APRN’s, Psychologists, Counselors, Dietitians, Nurses, Mental Health Technicians

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand anxiety and its significance in helping us navigate away from harm.
  2. Increase understanding of fight/flight/freeze/collapse process.
  3. Learn some new strategies for helping patients work with their trauma and PTSD/Acute Stress Symptoms.
