Description of Presentation:

We’re in desperate need of new treatments for Eating Disorders. Fortunately, there has been a resurgence of research in psychedelic medicine. Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is now emerging as a promising new treatment paradigm, one that carries the potential to yield significant breakthroughs for individuals with difficult-to-treat mental health conditions—including eating disorders.

Learning Objectives:

Based on the content of the workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Describe what challenges currently exist in the treatment of eating disorders.
  2. Summarize the function and uses of ketamine; identify the types of ketamine treatments available for eating disorders.
  3. Explain the function of psychedelics in eating disorder treatment; identify which psychedelics show promise.

Training For:

Staff of Hospitals, Medical Centers, Mental Health Clinics, General Medicine Physicians, Psychiatrists, APRN’s, Psychologists, Counselors, Dietitians, Nurses, Substance Abuse Counselors, Mental Health Technicians for all levels including introductory to advanced
