Description of Presentation:
We’re in desperate need of new treatments for Eating Disorders. Fortunately, there has been a resurgence of research in psychedelic medicine. Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is now emerging as a promising new treatment paradigm, one that carries the potential to yield significant breakthroughs for individuals with difficult-to-treat mental health conditions—including eating disorders.
Based on the content of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Describe what challenges currently exist in the treatment of eating disorders.
- Summarize the function and uses of ketamine; identify the types of ketamine treatments available for eating disorders.
- Explain the function of psychedelics in eating disorder treatment; identify which psychedelics show promise.
