About the Presenter:
Danielle Rhodes, MS, RD, LD is a dedicated Program Director and dietitian based in Boise, Idaho. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Idaho and continued her education by receiving her masters degree in the science of nutrition at Idaho state University. She is a dedicated yogi who has been practicing since she was 15 y.o., she completed her yoga teacher training in 2015.
Danielle has a strong professional interest in intuitive eating and Health at Every Size (HAES), advocating for inclusive, weight-neutral approaches to health and wellness. Her work reflects a commitment to compassionate care, evidence-based practices, and empowering individuals to foster a positive relationship with food and their bodies.
In her spare time you can find Danielle reading, practicing yoga, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Description of Presentation:
The rise in GLP-1 agonists consumers as well as expanding indication for use is now spreading more and more into the realm of eating disorders. This presentation will take an in-depth look at how our hunger/satiety is naturally regulated and how GLP-1 agonists impact this regulation, as well as how these physiological changes may influence individuals’ health behaviors and psychosocial well-being. In addition, there will be education for providers on key psychological drivers of eating behavior, and how to best support clients who choose to use this medication as part of their treatment or for other disease management.
Learning Objectives:
Based on the content of the workshop participants will be able to:
1. Describe how GLP-1 medications affect appetite regulation, insulin secretion, and gastric emptying, and consider how these physiological changes may influence individuals’ health behaviors and psychosocial well-being.”
2. Define key psychological drivers of eating behavior
3. Identify homeostatic and hedonic eating patterns and how these concepts inform client behaviors, treatment planning, and support for disordered eating
