Live in the present and prepare for the future…a future of possibilities, relationships, hobbies, hope, and healthy and fulfilling experiences. At times, the thought of leaving one’s eating disorder can elicit feelings of fear and uncertainty about the future. Individuals may feel a lack of control or feel overwhelmed by the process. They may even experience a sense of identity-loss as they begin to eliminate past behaviors that once consumed their time. Recovery is a process, and as daunting as it can feel, it is also a wonderful opportunity to embrace life.

Vision Week is about the future and the reality that a healthy, fulfilling, and happy life without an eating disorder is possible. In Recreation and Experiential Therapies, groups will focus on ways to fill free-time once occupied by the eating disorder with healthy alternatives, the power of choices, values, goals, interests, healthy risks, imagination, and individual preparation that lead to an exciting and satisfying future.
