Sydney Dawson Ballstaedt LCSW
After earning an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sydney went on to receive her Masters in Social Work from the University of Utah. Sydney specialized in substance use treatment while in her master’s program, and is skilled in working with clients who are battling addiction.
Sydney focuses on utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities in her work at Center for Change. She is certified in the use of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, (TF-CBT) and utilizes this model as well as several other therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT, DBT, and IFS among other therapeutic techniques. Sydney enjoys working with clients on an individual and a group level, and currently runs experience-based Ceremonial groups on the Adolescent, RTC, and PHP units.
Sydney is passionate about expressing unconditional positive regard for each of her clients. She aims to focus on meeting clients where they are at in their recovery process and partnering with them to assist in their continued personal development.
In her free time you can find Sydney enjoying the great outdoors – snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and spending time with her family and friends.
