Alyssa Peters LCPC
Director of Growth & Development
Alyssa Peters is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and an approved supervisor for the state of Idaho, with a deep passion for mental wellness and leadership in the counseling field. She holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University, which she completed in 2017. In 2019, Alyssa became a state-approved supervisor, eager to help guide and mentor the next generation of Idaho counselors.
Her career began with the opening of a successful private practice in the fall of 2017, where she spent six years working closely with individuals on their personal journeys toward self-discovery and empowerment. In the fall of 2023, Alyssa expanded her professional reach by stepping into the role of Clinical Director for a local community mental health agency. Most recently, she has taken on the position of Director of Growth and Development for the Center for Change in Boise, Idaho. She hopes to immerse herself into the eating disorders field within Idaho and to help grow and develop Center for Change and their services that are offered to the local community.
Alyssa’s commitment to the growth of others extends beyond her private practice and current leadership roles. She has served in various leadership positions with both local and national counseling associations by providing continuing education trainings and speeches and actively contributes to the education and training of graduate counseling students through her involvement on the board of a local nonprofit.
In her therapeutic practice, Alyssa emphasizes the importance of being present with her clients, treating them as the true experts in their own lives. She creates a supportive and challenging space where her clients can grow and explore new perspectives. While she draws from a variety of counseling techniques, her work is largely influenced by Gestalt therapy, which centers on the client’s present experience and self-awareness.
Outside of her professional life, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her family. She is a proud mom to a lively four-year-old daughter, as well as a silver Labrador, a French bulldog, and a cat. Alyssa and her husband, who have been together since 2016, enjoy the outdoors, as well as cozying up to catch up on the latest trending TV shows. Family is at the heart of her life, and she cherishes the loud, laughter-filled board games and meals shared with her extended family, all of whom live in the Treasure Valley.
Whether in the office or at home, Alyssa’s approach to life and work is centered on growth, connection, and the meaningful relationships she fosters along the way.
