Julie Vandenberghe, CMHC
Julie is originally from the Rochester, NY area but fell in love with the West during her undergraduate education at Brigham Young University where she received a BA in Film and a minor in Business. Following a time in Los Angeles during which she put her film education to use, Julie returned to Utah and decided to change career fields. She received her Master’s in Art in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, Salt Lake City in August 2012. While earning her Master’s Degree Julie interned at the Utah State Prison where she worked primarily with the female population and was introduced to the work of eating disorder recovery and The Center for Change.
Following graduation Julie spent three years at a private agency in the Salt Lake Area where she gained experience working with diverse populations. Julie is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which has assisted her in working with abused and traumatized children and teenagers. Julie works with patients in both English and Spanish and treats a variety of issues including eating disorders, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Julie is thrilled to join the team here at the Center for Change.
