Foundation for Change Invites All to Become "Angels of Hope" During Festival of Trees Celebration
November 4, 1998, Orem, Utah-Foundation For Change, a non-profit charitable foundation devoted to eating disorder awareness and education, is seeking support for the "Angels of Hope" tree that will be displayed during the upcoming Festival of Trees celebration, (Dec. 2-5, at the Salt Palace Exhibition Hall).
The "Angels of Hope" tree represents the hope for recovery that is available to the estimated 40,000 women in Utah who suffer with anorexia, bulimia and other related eating disorders. Scrolls containing "affirmations of hope" from women who are recovering from eating disorders will accompany the angel figures that adorn the tree.
"This tree is dedicated to hope and healing for women everywhere who suffer from an eating disorder," said Dr. Paul Harper, president of the Foundation for Change. "Most people don't appreciate the mental, emotional and spiritual anguish these women endure in pursuit of the "perfect" body or a sense of control over their lives. Our message to these women, their families and friends, is that this suffering is unnecessary and avoidable if they will seek the hope and help that are available to them."
Concerned individuals and corporations are encouraged to support the "Angels of Hope" tree by making a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation for Change, 1790 North State Street, Orem, Utah 84057, or by calling (801) 224-8255.
