| Pathways to Possibility with Difficult Cases - Professional Conference |
All clinicians encounter clients who remain unmoved by the profession's most sophisticated techniques. While explanations and
uncomplimentary descriptions exist aplenty for these clients, little information exists about what can be done to effect change.
In this intensive one-day workshop, Scott D. Miller, Ph.D. will present information from his book Psychotherapy with ''Impossible''
Cases: The Efficient Treatment of Therapy Veterans [Norton, November, 1996]. Based on a five-year study, this presentation will teach
clinicians four common pathways that invariably lead to impossibility and then help map their escape with even the most
challenging clients. Participants will recieve a certificate for 6 continuing education credits. |

End: 03/05/2003 - 5:00 pm |

| Foundation for Change Eating Disorder Awareness Benefit Dinner |
Eating disorders have reached epidemic proportions among young women in the United States. These disorders are prevalent among
women, especially between the ages of 15 and 30. One in ten females suffer from an eating disorder, and recent studies on college
campuses show that almost 20 percent of college females have bulimia. The Foundation is inaugurating fund raising for the "Save a
Life Fund," a fund dedicated to providing financial assistance to women who would not otherwise be able to obtain treatment. This
new program will be introduced at this years benefit dinner.
The growing number of lives being impacted by the harmful consequences of eating disorders is of grave concern. Women with
eating disorders suffer deep mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, and medical complications, and lose the ability to effectively
function in normal life. Foundation for Change is a tax-exempt non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reversing this terrible
trend. Foundation for Change helps families, professionals, educators, and communities combat the devastating impact of eating
disorders through research, preventive education, training, and financial assistance. |
