Meet the Management Staff

Michael E. Berrett, PhD, CEO, Licensed Psychologist


Dr. Berrett is CEO, Executive Director, and Co-founder of Center for Change. He has more than 27 years experience working with those suffering from eating disorders. He is co-author of several books and book chapters  including the APA book “Spiritual Approaches in the Treatment of Women with Eating Disorders”, and “Spiritual Renewal: A Journey of Faith and Healing”. He has also co-authored articles in peer review professional clinical  journals. He is a nationally recognized presenter and clinical trainer, and has presented at many national conferences including NEDA, IAEDP, RENFREW, BEDA, IECA, NATSAP, BFI SUMMIT, and others.

Jeff Anderson, CFO


Mr. Anderson is one of the co-founders and partners of Center for Change. Mr. Anderson received a degree in Hospitality Management. He has extensive experience in business management covering a wide range of industries from restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, and computers. His work with Novell/WordPerfect has given him the computer-based knowledge for the design, support, and maintenance of the many computer systems that are vital to the company's operation.

 

Nicole Hawkins, PhD, Licensed Psychologist - Director of Clinical Services

Dr. Hawkins received her PhD in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Utah State University in 1999. In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree, she completed a dissertation entitled "The Impact of the Ideal Thin Body Image on Women". She completed her internship at the Salt Lake Veteran Affairs Medical Center, where she provided inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults suffering from PTSD and depression. Dr. Hawkins has also worked at Logan Regional Hospital, USU Eating Disorder Clinic and Laboratory, USU Counseling Center, and Bear River Mental Health, and has focused on women's issues, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety.

Greg Ellis, MD - Medical Director

 

Dr. Ellis is the Medical Director at Center for Change. Dr. Ellis was born in California, schooled in Utah, and attended the University of Utah. He paused early in his university studies to spend two years in Japan learning the language and cultural aspects of the country. He resumed University of Utah studies, and following graduation, entered medical school at that same site. In both undergraduate and medical school he participated in leadership positions such as class president, Senate representative, etc. Dr. Ellis completed residency in psychiatry at the University of Utah.

Pam Kidd - Admissions Director


Pam has worked at the Center for Change since November of 1999. Pam had 20 years of experience working in customer service prior to joining the Center for Change team, receiving awards for her excellent service. She began her employment at Center for Change in public relations and marketing and then took on her current role of Admissions Director. In her free time she enjoys boating, hiking, biking, gardening and spending time with her family.

 

Tamara Noyes - Director of Business Development


Tamara Noyes joined Center for Change as the Business Development Director in August 2007. She comes to the Center with extensive experience in the behavioral healthcare industry, including specialization in insurance funding. She has demonstrated remarkable results in improving program census, broadening referral bases, and maximizing client relations. Tamara resides in South Jordan, Utah with her husband and two daughters. She is an avid softball and basketball fan (when her daughters are playing!), and she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

 

Julie B. Clark, PhD, Licensed Psychologist - Residential Clinical Director


Dr. Clark is one of the co-founders of Center for Change. She received her PhD in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in August 1984. She received a Masters Degree in School Psychology in 1981 from Brigham Young University. Dr. Clark has specialized in women's issues for 21 years in both outpatient and inpatient settings. These issues include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, abuse, dissociative disorders and self esteem difficulties. Dr. Clark has been involved in program development for children, adolescents and adults in various mental health settings. She also provides individual, group, and family therapy.  Dr. Clark is the Clinical Director over the Residential program at Center for Change.

 

Melissa Taylor, LMFT - Outpatient Clinical Director


Melissa received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2000. Upon graduation, she accepted a position at a residential treatment center for teenage girls and found that she enjoyed working with families in distress, sexual trauma, and eating disorders. She started working at CFC in 2004 due to her love of working with eating disorder patients. She is currently the Outpatient Clinical Director, overseeing the Partial Hospitalization Program, the Intensive Outpatient Program, and the Outpatient Services. Melissa speaks at state, regional, and national conferences and venues regarding the treatment and prevention of eating disorders. She enjoys meeting with patients daily and finds working with individuals who have eating disorders very rewarding. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and reading.

 

Torey Richards, MS, RD, CD - Clinical Nutrition Director


Torey Richards received her Masters Degree in Nutritional Science from Brigham Young University in December of 2009. In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree, she completed a thesis entitled "Measured Resting Energy Expenditure is Related to Bone". She completed her dietetic internship at Brigham Young University in May 2008, during which she had clinical training at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and Primary Children's Medical Center. This provided her with experience in general nutrition counseling, diabetes education, nutrition support, and nutrition research. Torey enjoys educating her clients on the principles of intuitive eating and guiding them on their path to establishing a healthy relationship with food.

 

Drew Ellsworth, RN, MSN


Drew received his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Weber State University. He has worked for a leading Intermountain Home Health & Hospice provider as a RN Case Manager for many years, providing care for those with a medical surgical intervention need specializing in IV therapy, Wound care, and Enteral Therapy needs. He received Intermountain Health Care's Patient Care Award for Home Care Services in 1996. Drew has been with the Center since its inception in 1996. As the Nursing & Health Services Director he directs the Nursing, Utilization Management, and Risk Management departments and provides ongoing instruction and training for all of Center for Change staff involved in direct care.
 

Iann Johnson, RN - Assistant Director of Nursing


Iann began her career in helping those with mental illnesses at Wasatch Mental Health as a Human Service Worker in 1998. After graduating from Utah Valley University  in 2000 with a nursing degree, Iann continued her work at Wasatch Mental Health as a Registered Nurse in their Adult Intensive Residential Facility. In 2005, Iann joined the staff at the Center for Change and is currently the Assistant Director of Nursing. Iann directly supervises the Registered Nurses on the Inpatient Acute and Residential units, oversees Infection Control Surveillance, monitors Employee Health and acts as the Loss Control Coordinator.  She greatly enjoys the work that is being done at the Center for Change and loves the opportunity to be a part of these women’s lives.

 

P. Scott Richards, PhD - Research Director


P. Scott Richards, PhD is the Director of Research for the Center for Change. Dr. Richards is a licensed psychologist and an Full Professor of Educational Psychology at Brigham Young University where he is the Coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Richards received his PhD in Counseling Psychology in 1988 from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He has extensive research training and experience, is the author of numerous scholarly articles in professional journals, and has authored or co-authored several books through the American Psychological Association publications.

 

 

Kathy Spencer - Direct Care Manager


Kathy has been with the Center for Change since 2007. She started as a Care Technician and loved working directly with the clients. She is now the Direct Care Manager of 50 plus Care Technicians. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 2009 with a degree in Dietetics. She is currently attending the University of Utah and working on a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Education, with an emphasis in eating disorder prevention. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to different countries and spending time with family and friends.
 

Robert Clark, SPHR - Human Resource Director


Mr. Clark has 23 years experience in general management and human resource management. He received his Masters Degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University and worked for 10 years in the international software industry. He was the director of regional operations for WordPerfect Corporation's European offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and subsequently managed Novell's international support operations in 12 countries around the globe. Mr. Clark has broad experience in cultural, legal, labor, fiscal, and human resource issues as well as strategic business planning and budgeting. He joined Center for Change in 1998.
